TAYBA FOUNDATION (http://taybafoundation.org/index.php) is a registered non-profit 501(c)(3) educational and charitable organization established in 2008 to preserve the legacy of Sacred Knowledge in the deen of Islam. “Tayba” is one of the many names of the Blessed City of the Prophets. TAYBA FOUNDATION aims to serve the Islamic educational needs of our communities based on the example how Medina was a society rooted in education. The Messenger of Allahs said, “I was only sent as a teacher.”
The Muslim community in the West has been successful in establishing mosques, however, there remains a tremendous void in regards to the establishment of educational institutions to preserve and teach Sacred Knowledge. These buildings must be coupled with educational infrastructure in order for lasting growth to transpire for Muslims in the West.
TAYBA FOUNDATION is developing the “El Hajj Malik Shabazz Distance Learning Program” to offer quality Islamic education to the Muslim inmate population. Muslim inmates within the U.S. prison system are currently benefiting from the curriculum and methods that the TAYBA FOUNDATION is developing.
