The competition -- akin to American Idol, albeit for younger people -- pits contestants ages 8 to 21 who perform before three judges and receive feedback.

The two-day preliminary round took place in January, with 21 judges -- central Ohio voice teachers, music instructors and vocalists -- working to winnow the 90 contestants to 29 finalists.

The finalists will sing again March 10th, with a $1,000 first-place prize at stake.

Among the five finals judges will be Nancy Carson, a talent agent from New York who was singer Britney Spears' first agent. Carson also represented actors Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.

The Youth Stars Sports, Arts & Dance March Break Camp is for children 5-12 years old and will run from March 5th – 9th , 2012 . We have a passionate and experienced team of certified instructors and counselors. The camp will run from 9:00am to 4:00pm and have on-site daycare hours before (from 7:30 am to 9am) and after (from 4:00pm to 6:00pm) for $5/ day (the daycare is optional ). The camp also offers an optional lunch program ($5 / day ).

Please join The Casey Young Foundation for our first official fundraiser, A Day of Music for Casey. We are a nonprofit charity organization, with pending 501c3 status. All donations and ticket sales will become retroactively tax exempt upon our imminent approval. This event is a memorial event to honor the life of our beautiful daughter Casey, who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 21 months. Proceeds raised by the foundation will benefit The SUDC organization, sudden unexplained death in children, and will also be used to create scholarships in the arts for toddlers and their families who might not otherwise have the opportunity. After the success of our Scuba night, we’re back with a bang. If you’re looking for one to watch in 2012, look no further than Huxley. With past releases on the likes of Tsuba and Nick Curly’s Cecille – and having recently signed to Ralph Lawson’s mighty 2020Vision – Huxley is one of the most hotly tipped artists around right now. Raised on a diet of UK and US garage, house and early rave music, Huxley spent 2011 wowing clubs the world over with his distinctive sound – and now he’s making his Glasgow debut.

Huxley’s appearance for EQTV presents… comes hot on the heels of his first release of 2012, the rousing Let It Go, due to drop on Hypercolour on February 15. Huxley biog…

Huxley, born Michael Dodman, is a name you’re sure to continue to hear more and more off after firmly cementing his place in the UK house scene this past two years. Raised on a diet of UK & US Garage, House and early rave music- Huxley has moulded his music into what is his can be called his own distinctive mark on house music.

First appearing on the scene with sometime collaborator, Ethyl, on their critically acclaimed 2009, Sassanids EP on Nick Curly's “Cecille Numbers”- as a duo they went on to release the 'Beatport Deep House 2010' nominated, Mother Tongue, on UK superpower- Tsuba. It was this that really put the duo on the map. Since this time Huxley has gone on to carve out his own solo career with releases on Tsuba, Morris Audio, Fear Of Flying and Suara, and remixes on labels such as Noir, Cecille and OFF.

2011 has seen dates at illustrious venues such as Fabric, Privilage & Le Batofar as well as dates in Ibiza, Italy, Germany of course throughout the UK. With forthcoming music on Hypercolour, OFF, Rebirth and his home label, Tsuba, there is a lot in store across the board of the house spectrums.

Don Diego is a contemporary jazz fusion saxophonist, vocalist and keyboard player who mixes instrumental covers of modern and classic R&B with rap and pop vocals. His music is divinely focused and undoubtedly appeals to the tastes of smooth jazz lovers. However, the urban flavor of Don Diego's music is unmistakable. While the Kenny G and David Sandborn will be obvious, one will discover the underlying influences of modern gospel and classic Detroit soul.

In recent years, Diego has recorded with jazz greats Kirk Whalum and Gerlald Albright. He reached the Billboard charts with "It Never Rains in Southern California on his "Razz" release and spent 26 weeks there. His music has been covered from various artists from pop to jazz including R&B superstar group Toni! Tony! Toné! Don has performed with Kenny G, George Howard and Najee. His versatility was on display when he toured with Vanilla Ice for three years and also played in B.B. King's band.

Over the years, Don Diego has created a diverse audio canvas on which he paints his masterful and culturally delightful musical offerings. Don Diego Jazz is all that. "Formerly known as the frontman for Something Corporate, a West Coast punk-pop quintet that garnered a modest following during the early 2000s, Andrew McMahon is also the piano-playing songwriter behind Jack's Mannequin. The resulting Everything in Transit, a sunny pop/rock "concept album exploring his alienating return to the hometown he left to pursue his music," was released on Maverick Records in August 2005 to a positive critical response. Fans also approved of McMahon's new sound, and Everything in Transit debuted at number 37 on the Billboard album charts. However, a supporting summer tour was canceled after McMahon was diagnosed with Acute Lymphatic Leukemia that same summer. He underwent a successful bone marrow transplant from his sister (for whom Something Corporate briefly reunited to record the song "Katie") and embarked on the long road to recovery. As McMahon recovered, a video for the album's first single, "The Mixed Tape," began making waves on VH1 and MTV. Jack's Mannequin played sporadic shows in 2006, headlining a brief summer tour before serving as the opening act for O.A.R. on nation-wide dates. A repackaged version of Transit appeared that fall coupled with a bonus DVD, and the band returned to the studio in mid-2007 to begin work on a sophomore effort. McMahon graced the cover of Alternative Press in January 2008, while an article inside the music magazine hyped the upcoming Jack's Mannequin release as one of the most highly anticipated albums of 2008. Although originally scheduled for a summer release date, The Glass Passenger ultimately arrived that September. People and Things, the group's third studio album, was released on October 4, 2011. You fly with Aeroplane once, you don’t forget it. In just three years, the Italian-Belgian producer has established himself as party-starting DJ, remixer du jour -with his spacious cosmic-disco re-rerubs of Grace Jones (William’s Blood), Friendly Fires (Paris) and Sebastien Tellier (Kilometer)- and, via his own piano-sprinkled melancholic beauties like Caramellas,leaders of the nu-disco and Balearica scene. So Aeroplane’s debut album, We Can’t Fly, arrives with sky-high hopes. Now that our appetites have been whetted by those brief, tantalising excursions, what delights await us on their maiden long-haul flight? Plenty, it turns out. Recorded in Toulouse, Paris, London and Los Angeles, We Can’t Fly (co-produced by Bertrand Burgalat), is a grown up, dazzlingly accomplished record that showcases not just a passion for stately, soulful disco and early 80s electronica, but a lush and bittersweet set of influences that stretch from Abba and film soundtracks to Floyd, the Stones and the Italian crooners that Vito Deluca’s mama played him in his Brussels youth. Aeroplane is a one-man operation. Flying solo has given Vito the chance to flex his classically trained musical muscles: “Aeroplane has been put in the dance music category but I’m a songwriter, that’s what I know how to do. I wanted to go back to proper pop music, not being forced to do nine-minute tracks so the DJ can mix in before and after.” Aeroplane has never been at the mercy of traditional bpms, and being free of “the dancefloor pressure” has given Vito additional license to slow things down and look around. “I’m at my best at 105bpm,” he says. “That’s the speed where I make the best music. You can do more, there’s more groove, more feeling.” He’s not kidding. Take We Can’t Fly, the languid, show stopping anthem-to-be with which Aeroplane kicked off their landmark 500th Radio 1 Essential Mix at Circus in Liverpool earlier this year. Laying gospel harmonies over Compass Point-era Grace Jones reggae, blissed-out Rimini keyboards and kiddie vocal samples, it’s handsome proof that dancability and musicality don’t have to be mutully exclusive. It’s going to sound rapturous live, when Vito and an expanded on-stage line-up play Aeroplane’s first dates later this year. Being let loose in a proper, bells-and-whistles studio for the first time has been something of an eye-opener. “I’ve been recording in my bedroom for my entire life so it sounds a million times better,” says Vito. “I was totally like a kid in a sweetshop.” The results are spectacular - and at times intensely cinematic. The widescreen, string-splashed Mountains of Moscow is the soundtrack to the best Eighties blockbuster you’ve never seen, while London Bridge and Point of No Return are mini-epics of spiralling Floydian guitar riffs and plaintive Tangerine Dream synths. “That's my dream actually, writing scores for movies,” says Vito. “For me the Rocky soundtrack is at the same level as Dark Side of the Moon, it’s the same kind of perfection.” Another mighty inspiration was Giorgio Moroder, whose gleaming electronic scores for Scarface and Midnight Express fed into the vintage disco stylings of My Enemy and the propulsive, piano-led Superstar, which Vito describes as “Moroder meets Canned Heat”. The raucous, razor-blade rock of I Don’t Feel features the formidable vocals of Merry Clayton, who backed Jagger on Vito’s favourite Stones song, Gimme Shelter. ”There was always this black chick singing at the end and I never knew who she was. I also had this amazing soul-funk record by a girl called Merry Clayton. Then one day they played Gimme Shelter on the radio and the DJ explained that it was Merry singing. I lost the plot and said we have to try everything we can to get her.” Get her they did, and Clayton wraps her arena-sized lungs around squalling Bowie-ish riffs to impressive effect. “She killed the song, it was amazing.” The roster of guest singers is impeccable. Nicolas Ker, the frontman of French italo-disco outfit Poni Hoax, adds a sullen elan to Fish in the Sky, an electro torch song worthy of Human League, while dream-pop outfit Au Revoir Simone breathe delicate harmonies over the woozy ballad We Fall Over, and London’s Jonathan Jeremiah transforms Good Riddance into a low-slung slice of honky-tonk soul. Perhaps the most ear-catching turn comes from the precocious LA teen-vixen Sky Ferreira on Without Lies, a cover of a song by the Belgian screen star Marie Gillain. The 17 year-old Ferreira takes obvious relish in delivering suggestive lines like “When I eat cake I prefer the cherry”. Vito picked her because “we needed a young voice but kind of sexy too. It’s like an angel and a demon in the same body.” It’s a breathtakingly diverse collection of songs, but what runs through all of them is that wistful Aeroplane trademark, what Vito calls “sad happiness”. It’s something he learned from the Italian pop maestros so beloved of his mum, men like Lucio Battisti and Adriano Celentano. An exquisite, bittersweet state that’s neither overly dark nor simplistically happy. It’s the Aeroplane way - wake up and smell the kerosene.

Chicasblue - 5 Mins - A woman journeys into her childhood as she seeks for lost memories and sensations. As she time travels, she warns the girl of what awaits her in the future. Chicasblue is about the painful and joyful transformation of a girl into a woman. It is the narration of a woman speaking to herself once she has accepted her inevitable fate of embracing adulthood.

Last Breath - 3.30 Mins - A delicate collage of poetic and evocative imagery woven together by the bittersweet narration of a father who remorsefully embraces the few memories and impressions he has of his young daughter.

The Portrait - 17 Mins - Photographic portraiture ambitiously aims to be about one single moment that could reveal a person's essence. It does not desire any moment, but the moment. Thus, what are the essential components that should coincide to create such portrait? Penélope, a young photographer, navigates through the anxious and determined quest to decipher the perfect alignment of ingredients to produce such photograph. The Portrait is a philosophical and poetic reflection on the power of memory, the sequel of loss and the multiple innuendos of the photographic art.

Daniela Merino was born in Quito, Ecuador. In Ecuador she earned her BA in Communications and Art History. In Latin America she worked as an editorial photographer for a couple of years, but with no formal training in photography, she decided to travel to New York to master the art of Black and White Printing at the International Center of Photography.

With her new skills she traveled to Asia to teach this art to young kids. During this time, she spontaneously started filming them in their photographic quest. Her passion for photography had grown into a passion for the moving image. She later earned her M.A. in Film at The New School back in New York.

As a result of these life events, her art now naturally fluctuates between the still and the moving image. Her photographic work has been shown in galleries in Ecuador, The United States, Belgium, Italy, Japan and The Philippines. Her films have been broadcasted by PBS and have also been showcased in festivals around the globe.

Jared Skolnick was born in Feeding Hills, MA where he developed a love of film and filmmaking from early childhood, poring over books on famous directors while the other kids were playing soccer. He attended the Williston Northampton High School, and his efforts as a senior created a film program in the curriculum that is growing to this day. He has recently graduated from Fairfield University, where he completed his thesis film, The Music of Erich Zann. To date, the film has screened in 14 international film festivals, winning awards in the process. He wishes to have others feel the joy and love that he has for the movies.

The Million Dollar Club is a fund set up to assist with research. This fundraising event was created to raise the awareness of Hemophilia and to help raise funds in search of a cure.

CHS is a non profit organization formed for the purpose of improving the quality of life for all persons with an inherited bleeding disorder. These bleeding disorders include hemophilia, von Willebrand disease, rare factor deficiencies and platelet disorders. CHS promotes research to prevent the suffering of persons with inherited bleeding disorders. The Society’s ultimate goal is to find a cure.

The new bonsai pavilion will celebrate the life of Dr. William Hosokawa (1915 – 2007), a prolific author, accomplished journalist, civil rights advocate and eloquent spokesperson for the Asian-American community. He received many honors through the years, including his appointment as honorary Consul General of Japan in Colorado for 25 years, the 2007 Civil Rights Award from the Anti-Defamation League and an honorary doctorate from the University of Denver. Bill Hosokawa was instrumental in helping Longmont Sister Cities Association develop its first sister city relationship with Chino, Japan over 20 years ago.

The Texas Wrangler Darlins is a service organization at the University of Texas in Austin. The event is a scholarship benefit for the Ride On Center for Kids (R.O.C.K.), a hippotherapy center for children and disabled veterans. R.O.C.K. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based out of Georgetown, Texas, and offers a variety of equine therapy for individuals with both cognitive and physical disabilities. The therapies provided help build the bodies, minds and spirits of children and adults in the Austin community. R.O.C.K. is also committed to further hippotherapy research to maximize the benefits for each participant. The money raised through Get Rowdy for R.O.C.K.! provides scholarships to make therapy more affordable for the families and individuals who may not have the opportunity otherwise to participate and benefit from R.O.C.K. . We have arranged another great day out on the William C Daldy. This is a family fun day on Kawau Island.

Cruise Tickets: Devonport – Kawau Island Return only $112.00 Adult, $75.00 Child (up to and including 15yrs), $340.00 Family (2 Adults and 2 children)

Boarding the Steam Tug at its base in Devonport, a loud blast on the whistle will mark our sailing as the smoke billows from the funnel and we steam down the Waitemata Harbour. At North Head, it will be full steam ahead as the engines are opened up for the “romp” up the Hauraki Gulf to Mansion House Bay in Kawau Island. The Tug William C Daldy rarely ventures out of Auckland Harbour these days. So book early.

We depart Devonport at 7am arriving at Kawau Island at 10.30am approx, where you can then enjoy several hours on the island – exploring Mansion House, The Island or take a picnic lunch.

We depart Kawau Island at 1.30pm arriving back at Devonport at 5.30pm approx.

A cash bar and BBQ will operate on this trip. Tea and coffee are available for only $2.00 each.

On May 19th, 2012 Hope for NKH will be hosting its second annual auction at the Lakes Moose Lodge #1865. Non-Ketotic Hyperglycinemia (NKH) is also known as glycine encephalopathy (GCE) which varies in severity. NKH is a metabolic disorder. Most babies born with this disorder die shortly after birth. Our son, Joseph Anthony and daughter, Sophia Grace passed away at 9 days and 5 days old. At birth NKH babies look like any other healthy baby. Days later they go through a period of lethargy, very weak or no cry, loss of muscle tone, little to no sucking reflex, and constant seizure activity and/or myoclonic jerks, which can lead to death. When a child survives they are faced with varying degrees of mental retardation. The disorder affects 1 in 60,000 newborns. There are less than 500 known children living worldwide with this disorder, and in 2010 our small, tight knit group of families lost 12 precious children. In practical terms what that means is there are no funds available for research, no grants, no pharmaceutical companies interested in researching this disorder that devastates children and their families. The one researcher in the world, Dr. Johan Van Hove, has dedicated his life’s work to helping our children, but in order to continue his research he needs approximately $100,000 per year. Tim Be Told is a Contemporary Christian music group that originated in Charlottesville, VA. A group comprised mostly of young Asian-Americans, their musical style incorporates elements of soul, pop, rock, gospel and blues. Their name was derived from the term "truth be told", where honesty is one of the band's focuses. Their goal within the music industry is promote the themes of honesty, hope, redemption, and change. In 2008, they were able to successfully win the University of Virginia's "Battle of the Bands" competition. The band’s music quickly spread through college campuses all over the U.S. and online, and since then they have been featured in numerous magazines and news outlets, such as the Gospel Music Channel, who used the video for their weekly feature. LiveLoveDie, their third record was released in March of 2007 and represents a significant evolutionary departure in style for Perpetual Groove. Teaming up once again with Hannon and Tree Sound Studios, the band set forth to create a darker sonic landscape without sacrificing too much of that "PGroove quality" thanks in part to Butler's warm, soaring vocals. HEAL, released in 2010, firmly established Perpetual Groove as more than a jamband with its focus on well-crafted songs. Honey Cuts, an EP released later in 2010, featuring three songs that did not fit the theme of Heal. On November 17th, 2011 it was announced that original keyboardist Matthew McDonald was rejoining the band. McDonald, keyboardist from 2001-2008, is an integral part of the PGroove sound and his addition has fans excited for 2012. Perpetual Groove continues to tour relentlessly throughout the United States and is a staple in the US festival scene with performances at All Good Music Festival, Gathering of the Vibes, Wakarusa, Bonnaroo, Jam Cruise, High Sierra, Jazz Fest, Riverbend and their own annual gathering, Amberland. The band has also made appearances at International events such as Jam in the Dam and Caribbean Holidaze. Perpetual Groove continues to push the envelope in the music industry, touring behind the first ever 5.1 surround sound system and producing the first album to be completely offset by renewable energy credits.

This year's speaker is the amazing Lucinda Yates, once homeless and destitute, Lucinda Yates took her future in her hands and created a multi-million dollar company. Come hear how she did it, with pins, and honor this years Leader Luncheon Award Winners. This event is about recognizing local women who have been empowered to make a difference in this community and to their chosen professions. It is also one of the YWCA's largest fundraisers of the year and is made possible through the support of generous community sponsors, including: Architectural Design Group, PNC, Methodist Medical Center of Illinois, Philippi-Hagenbuch, Caterpillar, and OSF Medical Center. Their corporate support makes it possible for us to apply dollars from ticket sales to support essential YWCA programs such as services for the homeless.

One to watch for 2012, Dublin based Rock/Pop act , Keywest return to play a headline show at Monroes Friday, February 24th to coincide with the release of their highly anticipated debut album “The Message”. Released in Ireland by Alphastar Records, “The Message” features the bands recent radio hits, Feels So Cruel and Back Into Your Arms. The album, co-produced by Mark Needham (The Killers) and engineered by Dan Frampton (The Script) and Steve Marcussen (Keane/REM) ranges in style with crunching guitar driven tracks such as Road to Damnation to more introspective heartfelt tracks such as On This Train. The band formed just over 3 years ago in a backyard shed in Artane, Dublin by childhood friends Andrew Kavanagh and Andrew Glover and were joined in 2010 by fellow Dubliner Eamon Hegarty and London lads, Sam Marder and James Lock. CarolinaFest 2012 returns to Skydive Carolina for its fifth installment! We are very excited about all this year will bring! Here are the highlights for this year's event:

Registering for Hot Air Balloon Jumps: What You Need to Know: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

All participants must:

- Have a B license and have at least 100 jumps  - All participants must have made at least 20 jumps in the last four months. - All sales are final. No refunds will be given unless balloon launch is scrapped due to weather.   - Failure to show up will lead to the default of the lift ticket. - Lift tickets WILL NOT BE REFUNDED. - Participants are expected to assist ground crew with balloon retrieval after landing. - It is mandatory for all partcipants to jump with a cell phone. - Please note, you will be away from the DZ for a few hours as you will be landing off and assisting with balloon retrieval. -   Sunday will be open to those wishing to reschedule jumps if any previous jumps are cancelled due to inclement weather. Rescheduling will only be permitted due to weather considerations.

What is the difference between Lift #1 and Lift #2?

The balloon will make 2 lifts (will launch twice). The first lift will launch from the DZ with three jumpers. Jumpers scheduled for lift 2 will ride in the chase vehicle to the balloon landing site from lift 1 and then launch from there.

Audible Altimeters - Jumpers have had difficulty with the use of audibles as the units don't properly register altitude correctly due to the slow ascent rate in the balloon. Please be sure to use an altimeter that reads barometric pressure. (like an Altimaster 2).

Jump Suits - Jump suits are highly recommended as all balloon jumps will result in off-field landings. It is very possible to land in non-mown areas that could lead to cuts to legs etc. Please wear a jump suit.

Cell Phones - All jumpers are required to carry cell phones. Failure to carry a cell phone will lead to the cancellation of your jump at launch time and your ticket will not be refunded.

Registering for Helicopter Jumps: What You Need to Know:

Price:  $65 per slot Helicopter holds four jumpers at a time. Riders / non jumpers are accepted. All participants must: - Have a B license and have at least 50 jumps   - All participants must have made at least 20 jumps in the last four months. - All riders must be at least 18 years of age.    - Pre-pay for lift tickets and submit to the helicopter ground crew at the time of jumping. - No refunds will be given for no shows.
